The Hardin County Board of Education's regular monthly school board meeting will be held Monday night, October 12, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Following the regular board meeting a planning meeting will be held. All Hardin County Schools and Offices will be closed from October 5th through October 9th for Fall Break. Classes will resume on Monday, October 12th.
The HCHS Football game versus Jackson Northside has been moved from Friday, Oct. 2 to tomorrow night, Thursday, Oct. 1 at Jackson Northside. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

Following the passing of beloved Tennessee icon Dolly Parton, the HCHS Tiger Tutors wanted to find a meaningful way to honor her life and continue one of the most important parts of her legacy.
Our Tiger Tutors are excited to launch Books, Dreams & Rhinestones, a fundraiser benefiting the Hardin County Imagination Library!
Through the Imagination Library, enrolled children receive a free, age-appropriate book in the mail every month from birth until they begin kindergarten. We all know that early access to books helps build vocabulary, strengthens family connections, and prepares children for success in school and beyond.
Just $12.50 helps sponsor one Hardin County child for an entire year—that represents 12 books delivered directly to the child’s home!
Our goal is to raise $12,500 to support 1,000 Little Dreamers across Hardin County. If we reach our goal, that will represent 12,000 books placed into the hands and homes of local children over the course of one year.
Our sponsorship levels include:
• Little Sparrow – $12.50: 1 child and 12 books
• Dream More Partner – $125: 10 children and 120 books
• Coat of Many Covers – $250: 20 children and 240 books
• Mountain of Stories Sponsor – $625: 50 children and 600 books
• Imagination Library Legend – $1,250: 100 children and 1,200 books
Any amount is welcome and appreciated! If you would like to participate, simply reply to this email with the amount or sponsorship level you would like to give. You may put your donation in the office mail addressed to HCHS - c/o Tiger Tutoring.
Many of the students sitting in our classrooms today grew up receiving Imagination Library books in the mail. Some may still remember the excitement of seeing a package addressed especially to them—or even the title of a favorite book. This is our opportunity to provide that same experience for Hardin County’s next generation.

The Jackson Symphony Music Academy program in partnership with the Savannah Arts Commission is offering violin lessons.
- This program focuses exclusively on violin. The lessons themselves are free, but there is a small monthly instrument rental fee (I don't know how much). Scholarships are available to help cover that fee.
- These lessons are for children 6-8 years of age.
- The first parent meeting is today, August 11th at 4:00pm at The Gamers Guild, located at 440 Main Street in Savannah. Lessons will be held on Tuesdays at The Gamers Guild at 4:00pm.
- Parents can call (731) 427-6440 to sign up their child or register at www.thejacksonsymphony.org
